About Cheshire

With such a pastoral landscape, it’s no surprise that Cheshire boasts a wide range of locally sourced food and drink, including the renowned Cheshire cheese. From fine dining, to gourmet country pubs and award-winning restaurants you’ll find more than enough temptation to help you tuck into some of Cheshire’s finest produce. Plus, with bustling markets and farm shops to stop off at along the way, you can even take that taste of Cheshire home with you.

It goes without saying that with a landscape this beautiful, the gardens are a must-see. Whether you’re in search of romantic rose gardens, botanical gardens, acres of rolling parkland, or somewhere that crosses from garden to gourmet, Cheshire’s vast array of country estates doesn’t disappoint.

Getting here and around

The most convenient way to Cheshire with your own vehicle is arriving by P&O Ferries into Hull. From there it is an approximately a two and half hour drive to Chester for example.

Cheshire is just south of the major cities of Liverpool and Manchester and in turn their respective airports. Manchester Airport is the larger of the two and offers flights to destinations across the world. If arriving by road there are multiple A roads and two M roads ensure that visitors can arrive smoothly into the county and get around just as easily. If you are visiting by train, much like the rest of the UK, Cheshire has multiple mainline and local stations from the cities of Crewe and Chester.
